The Love Grid Badminton Academy (LGBA) is a not for profit incorporated sporting organization.
LGBA will be the leader in badminton coaching in Western Australia and will also be recognized as such by the badminton fraternity. The intent is to produce quality players that will represent their state and country with pride and joy.
This will be done through structured learning experiences and by ensuring the provision of the highest quality of coaching, consistent with appropriate and recognized standards.
LGBA will raise funds by subscriptions of its members and will apply those funds in the best interest of the membership. LGBA provides excellent services to its members by giving special attention and consideration to juniors, students, ethnic groups and novice players. Coaching sessions are conducted for all levels and the elected officials instill stability, accountability and responsibility to all members.
COACH PLAN Teach players the rule and how to follow those rules Teach players to respect others, themselves and equipment Teach players to warm up and warm down correctly Group players according to skill and level of play All players to be given equal time by coaches - no favoritism Meet safety standards (playing environment, equipment, etc) Keep up with the latest practices and coaching techniques To be consistent, objective and courteous when making decisions Keep up to date with latest trends in officiating, knowledge, growth and development of the sport Teach, Motivate, Organize, Plan, Coach, and Discipline To be aware of players wants and needs Set goals (long and short term) and create ways to attain those goals Effectively communicate with players (listen and understand)

COMMITMENT FROM THE ACADEMY LGBA sets a good example by being enthusiastic, positive and supportive.
LGBA develops players by: Imparting leading practices and coaching techniques Internal competition Creating avenues for participating in BAWA run tournaments Creating avenues for participating in other tournaments Emphasizing the positive benefits of playing badminton Getting players involved in planning and leading activities associated with badminton Imparting knowledge and responsibilities by delegation Guidance through competition and professionalism Attaining enjoyment in badminton
LGBA expects participants to: Be on time Be prepared mentally & physically for your training session Have an idea of what you want to achieve Try their best and be fully committed Get out of periods of low motivation Focus on the positive aspects of training Be prepared to brief me on any coaching aspects
LGBA does: Solicit financial assistance Seize volunteers to assist with training Acquire sparring partners Secure guest speakers Co-ordinate social events (dance, raffles, quiz night, etc.) Set up competition matches Organize tournaments Reach international players to gain encouragement Construct camps for team building exercises
LGBA ensures that 1st aid kits are available and coaches are trained in 1st aid.
